Vertical Integration for Better Project Control

In 2007, CJI Process Systems moved into its existing campus in Santa Fe Springs, California. This facility provides nearly 100,000 square feet of manufacturing and engineering space.

This facility has allowed us to expand and update our overall manufacturing and engineering capabilities. CJI is one of the most vertically integrated suppliers to our industry.

Our 100% in-house vertical integration includes:

  • Engineering
  • Steel Fabrication
  • Plastic Fabrication
  • UL Panel Shop
  • ASME Code (U, R & S Stamps)
  • Linings & Coatings
  • Installation

As one of the few vertically integrated companies remaining in our industry, CJI has better control of nearly all aspects of your project. These internal capabilities are key to our success as both a contract manufacturer of chemical process equipment and a design-build fabricator of metal finishing equipment.

Solutions That Work

At CJI Process Systems, we use an engineer’s mindset in approaching every project — meaning we don’t rely on guesswork and won’t force a fit when a better solution can be found. We follow a systematic, rigorous method that gives us the ability to anticipate and solve design problems. With more than 100 combined years of experience, our engineering team has designed process equipment and components for a range of industries and applications. CJI’s in-house engineering personnel include:
  • Process Engineers
  • Mechanical Engineers
  • Electrical Engineers
  • Professional Engineers
  • Project Managers
  • Procurement

Perfection by Design

Since many of the process systems we engineer use dangerous chemicals, there’s no room for error in manufacturing. Therefore, before we fabricate a component or an entire system, we spend many hours perfecting the design — beginning with a thorough inventory of all the elements required. At the same time, we analyze their intended use, environment, life span, placement and other important details. We communicate with our clients and, if needed, their chemical suppliers, to learn everything about specific concerns, issues and priorities. Our engineering services include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • CAD Drawings (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor, Solid Works)
  • Control Panels
  • Piping Schematics
  • Fabrication Drawings
  • Equipment Design & Layout/Complete Factory Design Layout
  • Seismic Calculations
  • P&IDs
  • Electrical schematics & control panel layout
  • Complete fabrication & construction drawings
  • Utility and Point of Connection Drawings
  • Full-Size Plotting from A to D
  • Project Management from Inception to Start-Up
  • Operational Training for Mechanical, Electrical and Controls
  • Maintenance and Warranty Support
  • Permitting Services

Our more than 50 full-time employees can handle your most complex needs. CJI’s experts in engineering, accounting, purchasing, fabrication and customer service complement one another and face each new undertaking with enthusiasm and a spirit of cooperation.
CJI’s principals are actively involved in the day-to-day management and operation of the company. Service & Installation

At CJI Process Systems, we approach most of our projects on a turnkey basis, which includes on-site installation, start-up and training. We have installed equipment throughout the United States, Mexico and the Far East.

While many companies contract outside labor and/or companies, CJI utilizes its own personnel to install the provided equipment. This means that our on-site personnel are intimately familiar with the equipment and, in many cases, worked on the fabrication and assembly of it.

Our personnel are experienced in all aspects of installation effort, including:

  • Demolition of Existing Equipment
  • Rigging
  • Millwright
  • Mechanical Installation
  • Electrical Installation
  • Piping Installation
  • Duct Installation

As a licensed general contractor, CJI can perform many of the building modifications required to prepare the site for installation

  • Concrete
  • Berms
  • Trenches
  • Foundations
  • Pits
  • Sumps
  • Roof/Wall Penetrations
  • Rigging

Testing, Debugging & Certification

Our installation effort includes testing, debugging, and certifying that the equipment meets the contractual and performance obligations. During this phase of the installation, we maintain electrical, mechanical and supervisory personnel to assure that the installation is performed correctly and that all equipment operates per the requirements of the contract. All testing is performed with water.

Start-Up & Training

Our installation effort includes training for the customer’s operators and maintenance personnel in the operation of the equipment from a mechanical, electrical and software point of view. Training is available in English as well as Spanish.

Repeat Training & Maintenance Support

Often, our contracts require that CJI personnel return to the installation site for a refresher course in the operation of the equipment. This repeat training can occur at whatever intervals that the client feels would be beneficial to ensure that his people are ready to accept full responsibility for the operation of the system. In addition, CJI will accept contractual obligations to return periodically for on-site preventive maintenance.
