Capabilities

CJI Process Systems personnel are trained according to the current guidelines of the German Welding Society DVS FA 11 for welding thermoplastics. We also have ASTM C 1147 qualified plastic fabricators on staff. Some of our capabilities include:

• Hot-gas extrusion welding
• Butt fusion welding
• Hot-gas hand welding
• Solvent welding

Utilization of our butt fusion welding machine and extrusion welding guns results in highly robust construction. Our fusion machine heats the entire edge of the plastic and then hydraulically joins pieces together under pressure to fuse the plastic throughout the depth of the weld. These welds have the equivalent strength of a single panel and are significantly stronger than the more traditional three-bead welds performed with a hand torch. The extrusion gun extrudes a single bead up to ¾ inches wide and is over 50 percent stronger than multiple-bead welding.
